URGENTLY WANTED Monthly Planet Ark Discussions Facilitator &/or Monthly Education & Discussions Coffee Evenings Organiser. We would like to thank Therese for the great job she has done organising a wonderful program of guest speakers and discussions for the Planet Ark Discussion series - she is now moving on and we need a new coordinator. So if you are interested in hosting and organising either a mid-week evening Planet Ark series or a general Education & Discussions Coffee Evenings that could be either monthly or bi-monthly (what about two people alternate themes each month - so therefore you only need to host every second month.) It would suit someone living in a townhouse or unit as the numbers are not large. If in the Hills area contact Peter Watson at PETER.WATSON@sydneywater.com.au or if in another Branch area then contact your Vice President Programs with the offer. We need volunteers NOW as we are drafting the December-January programs early.
PLEASE NOTE:
To renew your membership by credit card or to fax your renewal form, ring Kim on 9833 2633 between 10am and 5pm (if not available leave a message and she will call you back)

A Special Thanks To Our Hosts
On behalf of all the PWP members and committees I would like to thank all those generous members who give of their time to host functions. This includes members who open their homes for fellow members to host PWP house parties, barbeques and other functions. But also a special thanks to those who regularly host dinners, tennis, bush walks, club nights, and the many regular functions that form a solid component of our PWP program. The family activities are a unique contribution to enriching the lives of the children of our single parent members and thanks to all those who organize such a diverse program and strive for new and novel activities to excite the PWP kids. The organizers of our major events, major excursions and the school holiday camps contribute a special dynamics and the highlights of our PWP program and we are grateful for your efforts.

.PWP DOES IT AGAIN
Live Theatre Group
Sometimes special interest groups emerge out of the friendships made at PWP. One such group is those who now regularly support the live plays at The Pavillion Theatre put on by the Castle Hill Players. The recent play was an enjoyable taste of culture and a very professional production. If you are interested in joining this group talk to Carol, Peter L or Andy at the next Hills function. Ask around someone will know who they are. It does require the pre-purchase of tickets – only a couple of plays remaining in the season.

Don't Go It Alone - Free Help For Separated Families
If your family is having relationship difficulties or negotiating separation, call the Family Relationship Advice Line on 1800 050 321 (free call).
The advice line provides:
* Information and advice on family issues, including how to develop workable arrangements after separation
* Referral to a wide range of other services that may help you.
The Government has also set-up a network of Family Relationship Centres, which are the first port of call when families want information about relationship and separation issues.
* There are currently 40 centres with a further 25 to be established in cities and towns across Australia in July 2008.
Go to www.familyrelationships.gov.au to find out about your nearest Family Relationship Centre or call 1800 050 321.
-PWP PARENTS REMINDER-
We would like to remind our PWP parents that you are responsible for the supervision and well-being of your children at all times during a PWP function, outing or excursion including the school holiday camps. PWP being a volunteer association is NOT able to and does not have the resources, accreditation, screening, licensing or insurance arrangements for assuming child or adolescent care responsibilities. Parents need to be observant where their children are at all times. You are also responsible for the good conduct and behaviour of your children. You need to assess the risks of some activities in relation to the child's age and development. If your child is accompanied by another parent and their children then this is a personal arrangement between the two parents, and other parents or committee members can not be expected to assume responsibility. We need to publish this even though we know most people already understand this.

:-) First Day
On the first day of school, the children brought gifts for their teacher.
The florist's son brought the teacher a bouquet of flowers.
The lolly-shop owner's daughter gave the teacher a pretty box of chocolates.
Then the bottle-shop owner's son brought up a big, heavy box.
The teacher lifted it up and noticed that it was leaking a little bit.
She touched a drop of the liquid with her finger and tasted it.
"Is it wine?" she guessed.
"No," the boy replied. She tasted another drop and asked, " Champagne?
"No," said the little boy. . . "It's a puppy!"
